Can the devices operate at points of increased water consumption, such as SUW?
Yes, MacR6 N and MacREJ5 W can be successfully used to operate SUWs.
How many batteries are the devices equipped with?
- MacR6 N: 1 battery
- MacIQ: 1 battery
- MacREJ5 W: 3 batteries – one to power the recorder, two for the built-in modem
How long do the devices run on built-in batteries?
- MacR6 N: up to 7 years
- MacIQ: up to 15 years with dynamic change of reporting frequency depending on battery status
- MacREJ5 W: 5 years at 3 transmissions per day, assuming the device sends only the latest data. Does not apply to external power supply
Can the devices operate in full immersion?
Yes, the MacR6 N and MacIQ recorders, with IP68 protection, can operate submerged in water. The MacREJ5 W has an IP66 protection rating, that is, it is immune from water jets of up to 100 l/min, poured on the housing from any direction.

Can data from the devices be received in real time?
MacREJ5 W: yes, the device can be online, connected to an external power source (such as a 5V power supply).
How to read data from devices?
Data can be sent to any readout system of the customer’s choice. By default, the loggers send data to the Plum eWebTEL platform (ewebtel.com) – an advanced system for the acquisition and visualization of measurement data from Plum devices.
If you wish to use your devices with a system other than eWebtel, you should consult with Plum’s technical staff to outline the possibilities for implementation into another system.
What data transmission protocols are implemented in Plum devices?
- MacR6N: GazModem
- MacIQ: GazModem
- MacREJ5 W: Modbus RTU/TCP, GazModem
Do PLUM devices work with SCADA systems?
MacIQ / MacR6 N: Yes, the devices can work with any SCADA system, provided a suitable transmission protocol parser is used.
In the case of MacREJ 5 W, this is possible by default through the use of Modbus RTU/TCP protocol.
Integration with SCADA systems can also be done indirectly, by exporting measurement data from the eWebTEL system.
What measurement data does the equipment record?
- MacR6 N: flow in normal and reverse direction, pressure.
- MacIQ: flow in normal and reverse direction.
- MacREJ5 W: flow in normal and reverse direction, pressure.
What events and alarms do the devices record?
- MacR6 N: flooding of the water meter well, removal of the recorder from the water meter, magnetic interference, disconnection of the pressure sensor, opening of the cover, exceeding the set pressure or flow threshold, leaks.
- MacIQ: disassembly, magnetic interference, exceeding flow threshold, leakage
Can devices be remotely upgraded and reconfigured?
Yes, software can be remotely updated and reconfigured in the devices.

Do the devices require periodic maintenance?
Depending on the reporting frequencies and recording densities set by the user, the power battery may need to be replaced.
What can be measured (what quantities can be measured) with Plum devices?
Water flow, water pressure, water level, zero-one signals (door/door sensors).
How many devices can be metered with Plum loggers? What configurations can there be?
MacR6N:
